With the information collected from surveys and guidance from the CDC, we have made the following changes to our people programs in regards to Covid-19 and keeping our entire community healthy:
Our Compassionate Caretakers class will gather together in our beautiful outdoor space to make discoveries, play, create, and explore alongside our animal friends. We will also participate in introductory caretaking for our residents, gardens, and environment.
The days will include a drop-off time at 9:30, story time, play/create/explore time, animal spotlight, animal visits in the pasture and barn, and conclude with a picnic-style packed lunch from 12:00-12:30.
Participants will explore the concepts of acceptance, compassion, and empathy for all beings. During their time at Heartland Farm Sanctuary, participants will reflect on their own self advocacy and communication skills while also being a voice for rescued farm animals.
Led by two of our Humane Education teachers, children will explore, create, and play at our beautiful sanctuary, in spaces designed to foster an engaging, safe and accepting environment to learn and grow alongside our animal friends.
