An advanced program for older campers who are interested in taking on more responsibility with our rescued residents. At Leadership Camp, we’ll explore the biological, social, and cognitive needs of farm animals while supporting the direct care of the sanctuary residents and the daily barn routine.
Campers will develop self-awareness of others, explore the inner lives and adaptations of rescued farm animals, consider their own compassionate lens on the world, and be challenged to think creatively about how they can make a difference in their communities and beyond.
If your camper is 12 years old or turning 12 this summer, they may choose either Morning Leadership Camp or Morning Humane Education Camp at Heartland. Please email our Humane Education Manager, Amy, at Amy.Kurka@HeartlandFarmSanctuary.org, for assistance with this particular option since it may not be visible in our registration system, depending on your camper’s birthday.
