Gracie was transferred from a local animal shelter to Heartland in 2011. She was surrendered to the shelter because her owner could no longer care for her. Her goose partner had died, and she was vulnerable to the winter and predators. Now, Gracie is one of the matriarchs of the Heartland barn. She used to follow our staff and volunteers around the barn everywhere, but now she has other waterfowl at the barn to socialize with.
