Lovely Venus was rescued in May 2018 after being found wandering on the side of the highway with a large wound on the back of her neck. She was most likely dumped (sadly, this is a pretty common problem with domestic ducks, who cannot fly and do not have the instincts to keep themselves safe from predators). We think Venus must have been attacked by some sort of predator and honestly - it's a miracle she survived! Venus is one of several ducks at Heartland who lives with visual impairment or blindness.
