Very sweet and shy, and of course a little goofy.
Showing off his beautiful smile and grazing in the pasture with Mick and Thor.
Orion arrived at Heartland at 14 years old after his sister passed away and his owners were worried about him being alone. Llamas are naturally herd animals, and are the happiest when surrounded by other llamas. This was the first time we'd introduced a new member to our current "herd" (of 2!) so we weren't sure how it was going to work out. We're happy to report that after a short time, our three llama boys are fully bonded and really don't like being separated from one another.
Your tax-deductible donation to Heartland Farm Sanctuary allows us to care for farm animals in need and operate our unique people programs that inspire compassion for animals, the earth and each other.
