Youth/Family Programs

AAT Picture

Heartland offers a variety of animal-assisted programs to meet the needs of youth and adults with special needs, at risk youth, and youth or families experiencing trauma and loss.

Through working with and connecting to our rescued animals, participants will experience a safe, relaxed, fun environment where they can establish a trusting, non-judgmental relationship with animals who also have a painful or challenging past. With this relationship, both youth and adults can begin to heal and value themselves, building self-esteem and taking the first steps toward a brighter future.
