This past Thanksgiving, our turkeys were the guests of honor – and NOT the entree – at Heartland’s Thanksgiving Feast For the Turkeys. Our barn manager, Sarah Solberg, prepared a buffet of vegetarian goodies with the help of several barn volunteers. No meat on this holiday menu – only squash, pumpkin, fruit, and stuffing, to name a few of the yummy items.
The holiday season is a time for compassion and, when so many turkeys and other animals are eaten, what a gift it is to sponsor one instead! To learn how you can sponsor one of Heartland’s 40 rescued animals for the holidays, click here.
